Prime Minister Imran Khan departed on Thursday on a two day official visit to Saudi Arabia to discuss the various dimensions of the grave situation in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) with Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman.

According to a press release by the Foreign Office, the PM's visit to Saudi Arabia will further reinforce the close fraternal ties between the two countries and deepen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

The PM will discuss the various dimensions of the grave situation in occupied Kashmir,arising from India's illegal and unilateral actions of August 5. The premier has been in regular contact with the Saudi crown prince since the illegal and unilateral actions of India in stripping of special status given to IoK, the statement said.

"Since the visit to Pakistan by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman in February 2019, there is a growing momentum in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations in all areas of cooperation," the press release stated.

Earlier in September, Saudi Foreign Affairs Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir visited Pakistan to discuss the Kashmir situation. The Saudi minister took full cognisance of Pakistan’s perspective on Kashmir.
