Govt repatriates services of judges hearing cases of PML-N leaders

The Ministry of Law and Justice has repatriated the services of three judges, two of whom were currently hearing the cases of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leaders including president Shehbaz Sharif, vice president Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shahbaz and Rana Sanaullah.

In a notification dated August 26, the services of Judge Masood Arshad, who has been hearing the narcotics case of PML-N leader Sanaullah, has also been recalled. Similarly, Judge Naeem Arshad was hearing cases of Shehbaz , Maryam and Hamza.

The services of Judge Mushtaq Elahi have also been repatriated. The services of these judges have been repatriated to the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The notification has also asked the LHC to recommend new names of district and sessions judges in the Anti-Narcotics Court and the accountability court.

Meanwhile, during the narcotics hearing today, Judge Masood recused himself from hearing the case saying that he has received a message via WhatsApp that his services have been recalled, local media reported.
