Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told United States President Donald Trump during their meeting on Monday that India has the Kashmir issue 'under control'.

Speaking to the media in Biarritz, the US president said that during their discussion, Modi told him that they have the Kashmir issue under control. "We spoke last night about Kashmir, Prime Minister [Modi] really feels he has it under control. They speak with Pakistan and I'm sure that they will be able to do something that will be very good," Trump said.

Modi has further told the US president that all issues between India and Pakistan are bilateral in nature, which is why they are 'not bothering any other country regarding them'. "India and Pakistan were together before 1947 and I am confident that we can discuss our problems and solve them together," Modi added.

The Indian PM arrived on Sunday to attend the G7 summit in France.
