Imran Khan to address nation today on Kashmir issue

26 Aug, 2019

Prime Minster (PM) Imran Khan will address the nation today regarding Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) after its special status was stripped off by India.

Special Advisor to PM for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan took to her Twitter handle on Monday and announced that the premier will address the nation regarding the issue of IoK.

Since Indian abrogated Article 370 from its constitution, IoK has been in lock down. Thousands of Indian forces have been deployed in the already heavy militated region. Indian political leaders have also been barred from visiting IoK. According to reports, Indian forces in IoK have been raiding houses and abducting the youth from different areas of occupied Kashmir.

PM has strongly condemned India’s move and has several times called the international community's attention towards Indian atrocities and its genocide agenda in IoK. “I want to warn the international community that the Indian leadership will in all probability attempt a false flag operation to divert attention from its massive human rights violations and the unleashing of a reign of terror in IoK,” the premier tweeted on Saturday.

He has also warned the international community that should ethnic cleansing of Muslims take place in IoK, there would be severe repercussions in the Muslim world.
