Javed Akhtar slams PM Imran Khan for criticizing ‘racist Hindu Supremacist Modi Government’

Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a series of tweets on August 18 said that Modi’s government is threat to India’s minorities. Reacting to his statement Indian lyricist Javed Akhtar took a sarcastic dig at Khan saying that he should care more about minorities residing in Pakistan.

“Imraan sahib, I will be ungrateful if I don’t show my gratitude for your concern about the Indian minorities. I can’t imagine, if you care so much for others, how compassionate and protective you must be towards the Hindus, Christians, Ahmadiyas, Mohajir and Baloch of your own country,” Akthar replied to Khan’s one of the tweet.

Khan also said that 4 million Indian Muslims face detention camps & cancellation of citizenship. “World must take note as this genie is out of the bottle & the doctrine of hate & genocide, with RSS goons on the rampage, will spread unless the international community acts now to stop it,” Khan wrote on Twitter.

Khan's tweet has come right amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, owing to the hotly debated topic of Kashmir.

Akhtar has also showed his support to Priyanka Chopra, who has been heavily criticised for promoting war between Pakistan and India. “I know Priyanka Chopra personally. She is a cultured, decent and educated person and the fact remains she is an Indian. If there is some kind of controversy and difference in point of view between an average Indian citizen (like Priyanka Chopra) and the Pakistani establishment, obviously her point of view will be an Indian point of view. If her comments have upset the Pakistani establishment, they can do whatever they wish," he told Indian media.
