After Samjhauta Express, Pakistan halts Thar Express train service to India

After closing down the Samjhauta Express train service, Pakistan has also decided to halt the Thar Express in the wake of India's decisions regarding Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid announced on Friday that the government has decided to discontinue the weekly train service between the towns of Khokrapar in Pakistan and Monabao in India. The minister reiterated that as long as he is the minister no train will operate between Pakistan and India, local media reported.

Pakistan has also decided to downgrade diplomatic relations with India. It also decided to suspend trade between the two countries. Security arrangements across Pakistan have been tightened and Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the army to remain vigilant.

PM's Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan also announced that screening of Indian films in the country’s cinemas is banned.
