Zardari, Nawaz utilize colossal amount for foreign trips: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Thursday said that former President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan Peoples Party and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan Muslim League-N, had utilized a colossal amount for foreign trips.

Both the leaders of PPP and PML-N, had used billions from national exchequer, for their foreign tours  besides spending luxurious life during their tenures, he stated while talking to a private television news channel programme.

The purpose of the Opposition parties was just to find escape or protecting themselves from their corruption cases filed by the last government

against Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, he added.

About rallies and protest demonstration launched by Opposition, he said that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), leadership didn’t show any reservation regarding the matter.

The minister said that every person holds rights for protest but taking law into hand, would not be allowed anywhere.

The PTI government, he claimed didn’t have any scandal of corruption during the period of last one year.

Fawad Chaudhry said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken austerity measures to benefit people of the country.

He said incumbent government was leaving no stone unturned to take the country economically forward. The steps have been taken for lessening imports and enhancing exports, he added.

In replying to a question about curbing media, he said no one was permitted to disgrace people while using the forum of media.

To another question, he said the present leadership had started improving relations with other countries including neighbors, adding that opening of Kartarpur Corridor was a way forward for further cementing ties with people of all regions.
