COAS, ISI chief accompany PM for official visit to United States

Prime Minister Imran Khan departed on early Saturday morning for his first official visit to the United States, accompanied with Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant-General Faiz Hameed and others.

This is the premier's maiden visit to the States since assuming office. This is also the first time that Pakistan's top generals will accompany a prime minister to a White House meeting with the US president.

Others to accompany the premier are Advisor to PM on Finance Hafeez Shaikh, Advisor to PM on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood. On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is already in Washington.

The prime minister and US President Donald Trump will have a one-on-one meeting at the White House on July 22. Other key meetings and deliberations will also be held during the premier's three-day official visit.
