The Sindh High Court (SHC) sentenced on Monday Shahrukh Jatoi and others to life imprisonment in the Shahzeb Khan murder case.

During the hearing today, the SHC announced its reserved verdict and changed Jatoi's and Siraj Talpur's death sentence to life imprisonment, local media reported. The high court has maintained Siraj's brother Sajjad Talpur and Murtaza Lashari's life imprisonment.

Son of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shahzeb, was gunned down on the night of December 24, 2012 in Karachi’s Defence Housing Society. Seven people, including Shahrukh, Siraj, his brother Sajjad and their employee Murtaza were booked in the murder case.

An anti-terrorism court had had awarded death sentences to Shahrukh and Siraj in 2013. Both had then filed an appeal against his death sentence in the high court. While Sajjad and Murtaza were awarded life sentences.
