LAHORE: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Tuesday said that uncalled for aggression across the Line of Control (LoC) by India was nothing but "terrorism" and it was detrimental to peace.

Talking to Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement United Kingdom (UK) Chairman Raja Najabat and Secretary General Mohammad Azam during a meeting at the Governor's House, he said unprovoked firing by the Indian army which caused death of Pakistani soldiers was a conspiracy against regional peace.

He said Pakistan Army had always given befitting reply to Indian intrusion, adding that India was trying to articulate environment of confrontation in the region to hide atrocities in the Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).

Sarwar said the nation stood united by the armed forces of the country, adding, "Sacrifices of our brave soldiers for the motherland is a golden chapter of our national history."

He said clouds of war loomed large over South Asia due to brinkmanship of Indian leadership.

The Governor Punjab said Pakistan would defend its borders and respond with full force to India. He said People of Kashmir deserved all basic rights and freedoms, adding that India should stop bloodshed and violation of basic human rights in the IHK which is an integral part of Pakistan.

Sarwar urged the international community to step forward and play its role in resolving outstanding Kashmir issue while called upon the United Nations (UN) to implement its resolutions. He said India had been defeated on diplomatic, political and military fronts by Pakistan.
