India postpones Kartarpur Corridor talks at last minute

29 Mar, 2019

India postponed on Friday the Kartarpur Corridor meeting with Pakistan without consulting with the country, few days before the second round of talks between the two neighbouring countries was scheduled to be held.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal announced on his Twitter handle that India has postponed the upcoming meeting. He wrote that Pakistan regrets the decision by the neighbor when they had jointly agreed on March 14, to meet again on April 2.

"Last minute postponement without seeking views from Pakistan and especially after the productive technical meeting on 19 March is incomprehensible," the FO spokesperson added.

Earlier on Friday morning, Faisal had announced that Pakistan is again welcoming Indian media for coverage. He wrote, “They [Indian media] may apply to Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi for visas.”
