Accepting the appeals of Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in the fake accounts case, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted them pre-arrest bail.

During the hearing on Thursday, the court granted the siblings pre-arrest bail till April 10. The IHC has ordered the duo to pay 1 million each as surety bonds, local media reported.

In his petition, Zardari stated that he has received three summons from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)  in the case and he does not know how many inquires are being carried against him. He added that the bureau could arrest him in any of the cases and that is why he has approached the high court for pre-arrest bail.

On March 19, Zardari and Talpur were granted a 10-day protective bail by Sindh High Court (SHC) and were ordered to submit Rs1 million as surety bonds.

NAB has been investigating Zardari, Talpur, Omni Group Chairman Anwar Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Hussain Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza and other responsible in the fake accounts case.
