The Sindh High Court (SHC) accepted on Tuesday former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur’s request for protective bail for 10 days in the money laundering through fake accounts case.

During the hearing today, the SHC accepted the appeal of the siblings and granted them protective bail for 10 days. The high court has ordered that the siblings submit Rs 100,000 as bonds.

Earlier, the court rejected pleas of Zardari and Talpur's request for a stay order in the case. The high court also rejected the request of Zardari's counsel, Farooq H. Naek to summon the entire record of the money laundering case.

The SHC has also issued notices National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor and director general of the body's Karachi office and has summoned their responses by March 26, local media reported.

Zardari had filed a petition in SHC challenging Karachi's banking court's verdict in allowing NAB to transfer the fake accounts case to Rawalpindi.
