Working for quality education in Pakistan:  Shafqat Mehmood

'No nation could reach the climax of development and prosperity without having quality education', he said while talking to a private news channel.

Minister says government is working to introduce uniform education system in the country.

He further said better quality of education is important not only for students, who benefit from better earnings but also for the nation at large.

Safqat Mehmood also suggested to improve the quality of teaching by introducing different training course for aspiring teachers so that they can meet the needs of the national and international standards of education.

He highlighted that different education systems were working in the society like Madrassa system, government schools, Urdu medium, English medium and Oxford system of education which had badly damaging the unity of the country.

He said that quality education was the right of every child of the society, but unfortunately, no ruler in the past focused on it, adding that it would be a marvelous step by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to introduce uniform quality education for everyone without any discrimination.

The minister also stressed for the need of enhancing budget for the education sector, saying that for the progress and prosperity of the country, every children has to be enrolled in the school.

Minister said the government will taking all stakeholders on board to make changes so as to introduce a uniform education system in the country.

Safqat Mehmood says Pakistan and UNDP also working together in several areas of education sector.

“The education system is facing numerous challenges which will be tackled according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he concluded.
