IHC dismisses Shazain Bugti's plea for land royalty

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday dismissed a petition of Shazain Bugti and his brothers seeking royalty from the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) for acquiring their 3,400 acres of land.

Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani of the IHC, in his written order, directed the petitioners to approach the relevant forum regarding the above matter.

The petitioners had claimed royalty from the OGDCL for acquiring their 3400 acres of land in Balochistan.

During the hearing, OGDCL's counsel Kashif Malik informed the court that the department had returned 2,500 acres of land to the owners and paid royalty to them for the rest 704 acres.
