Welcoming Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa's decision to take strict action against those found to be giving false testimonies in cases, Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Tuesday that 'journey towards truth' is a journey towards Naya Pakistan.

The premier took to his Twitter handle and lauded the CJP's decision. PM Khan wrote, “Nations become great because they have a higher value system. Muslim civilization's foundation was State of Medina with truthfulness as the core value."

On Monday the chief justice had warned stern action against those found to be guilty of having given false testimony in cases. The CJP remarked that people who lie in testimonies have ruined the judicial system.

The CJP said, "All those who have given testimonies, beware. We are starting a journey towards truth from today — March 4. The chief justice added that if any part of any testimony is found to be false, the whole testimony will be disregarded.
