A resolution was submitted in the National Assembly Secretariat on Saturday demanding that Prime Minister Imran Khan be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for wisely tackling the soaring tensions between Pakistan and India.

The resolution was submitted by Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry. The motion demanded that the premier be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in deescalating the tension between the two neighbors.

The premier has been tackling the recent allegations and aggression of India after the February 14 Pulwama attack. India has accused Pakistan for the deaths of its more than 40 soldiers killed in the attack. On this, the prime minister had offered India to investigate and provide actionable evidence. This offer was rejected by India who then violated the Line of Control and attempted to air strike.

The attempts of the Indian Air Force (IAF) were foiled by Pakistan Air Force (PAF). On February 20, IAF again tried to cross the LoC but the PAF responded and shot down two of their jets. The PAF also arrested Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan. At the premier's orders, the pilot was release on March 1 as a peace gesture.
