27 Feb, 2019

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs & Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja Wednesday said that it was a historic day for legislation in the Punjab Assembly as five bills were approved.

He was addressing the media outside the Punjab Assembly building here.

The minister said that passed bills included amended bills of Punjab Skills Development Authority Bill 2018, two amended Bills of Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), an amended draft bill of Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees and a draft bill of Productions Orders for Members Punjab Assembly.

He lauded the role of the opposition in passing these bills and hoped that it would continue its cooperation in the best public interest in future.

The minister said the opposition was equally responsible for legislation and running the Assembly business.

Raja Basharat said that the opposition had expressed another remarkable sign by passing a unanimous resolution for appreciating the Pak Forces on shooting down two warplanes of India.

He said: "We are a free and peace-loving nation but can't tolerate any type of intrusion into our sovereignty."

The minister also appreciated the positive role of Pakistani media.
