Updated 27 Feb, 2019

Hours after the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down two Indian Air Force (IAF) jets on Wednesday, India has confirmed that India lost MiG 21 jet and the pilot in action is missing.

In a brief joint press conference with Indian Air Vice Marshal, Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar confirmed that India had lost one of its MIG 21 and its pilot after engaging with PAF. The spokesperson said that India was currently ascertaining facts on Pakistan's claim of arresting the missing pilot.

Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor had already confirmed earlier that two pilots of Indian Air Force had been captured after PAF shot down the Indian jets. DG ISPR also refuted India's false claims of shooting down PAF's F-16 jet.
