The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was granted on Monday another extension in the physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan in the case of owing assets beyond known source of income.

The former local Punjab minister was presented before the court by NAB. The bureau had requested the court to extend the remand of the PTI leader, local media reported. The court then extended the physical remand of Khan till March 5.

During the hearing on February 10, Khan said that he was being accused of corruption owing to the new documents which he had submitted and that his name was not included in the Panama Papers.

NAB arrested Khan on February 6 outside the accountability bureau in Lahore. Since then he has been in NAB’s custody who had been granted physical remand of Khan.

NAB had alleged that the PTI leader has established multiple companies in UAE and Britain. The bureau said that it was further probing into these companies. Khan tendered his resignation following his arrest by NAB.
