The race for foldable phone has already started thanks to Samsung with its Galaxy Fold and Huawei has stepped up with its 5G-enabled foldable phone - the Huawei Mate X.

Days after Samsung launched its own pricey Galaxy Fold, Huawei too has introduced its own version of smartphone-cum-tablet at the Mobile World Congress 2019. The phone is not only bigger than the Galaxy Fold but also more expensive than it, making it the world’s most expensive phone in the market.

Samsung unveils most expensive smartphone Galaxy Fold costing over $1,900

As compared to Galaxy Fold, the Mate X is 6.6-inches when folded up and 8-inches when unfolded. The phone unfolds completely flat without any gap between the different screens. The smartphone features 5G-facility and the ability to run multiple apps simultaneously.

The phone inside of curving inwards, curves outwards, thanks to what Huawei calls a Falcon Wing hinge. The Mate X packs a massive 4,500mAh battery. The side of the phone houses triple cameras with a power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor.

With all the amazing specs, the Mate X also comes with an expensive price tag starting at $2,600 as compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold costing $1,980. The phone will become available starting mid of this year.
