KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has recorded the highest earning of Rs96.9 billion for the year 2018; 13.6 percent higher than Rs85.3 billion of the previous year. The net interest income for the year increased by 11.8 percent to Rs60.7 billion against Rs54.3 billion of 2017 and 16.7 percent growth was also achieved in non-interest / mark-up income at Rs36.2 billion.

Maintaining its position in the banking industry, NBP recorded solid growth in terms of both balance sheet size and the total revenue, said a NBP press release on Friday.

Despite the fact that the 2018 was generally difficult year for the banking industry, National Bank has achieved the highest-ever total revenue in its history of seven decades.

The profit before provisions amounted to Rs41.0 billion, which is 11.4 percent higher than Rs36.8 billion for the year 2017.
