Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Pakistan's high commissioner in India Sohail Mahmood on Tuesday, for consultations regarding India's false allegations on Pakistan's involvement in the Pulwama attack in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

During the meeting today, the foreign minister told Sohail that they were seriously reviewing the emergency situation. He told the high commissioner that he has also written a letter to the United Nation Secretary General Antonio Guterres and appraised him about the current scenario between India and Pakistan. Shah further said that Pakistan wants peace and that chaos and unrest in the region would not anyone's interest, local media reported.

Sohail was called back and summoned to Pakistan, after which he flew from New Delhi on Monday. India too had summoned its high commissioner in Pakistan Ajay Bisaria to New Delhi. The tension between the two neighboring countries have escalated after an attack on soldiers in IoK's Pulwama area last week, in which 40 Indian paramilitary troops were killed.

A suicide bomber rammed his car into the bus carrying the soldiers, which has reportedly been claimed by Jaish-e-Mohammad. Soon after the attack, India pointed fingers at Pakistan for the attack, without any investigation.
