Duke & Duchess of Cambridge due on October 14

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - Prince William and Kate Middleton - will visit Pakistan from October 14-18, 2019. "Kensington Palace has announced Friday that the official visit to Pakistan by Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take place between Monday, October 14, and Friday, October 18. Further details will be advised in due course," the British High Commission here said on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Kensington Palace, announced through a tweet on its official Twitter handle, saying: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend a special event at the Aga Khan Centre on October 2, hosted by His Highness The Aga Khan. The event falls ahead of TRH's official visit to Pakistan, which will take place between October 14 and 18."
Pakistan welcomed the visit of the royal couple and stated it will be another opportunity to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UK. "The government and the people of Pakistan look forward to the visit of the Royal couple to Pakistan next month. Pakistan and the UK enjoy deep and cordial relationship. The visit will provide yet another opportunity to further strengthen the bilateral relations," Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal stated in a tweet.
In a tweet, Pakistan's High Commissioner to the Britain Nafees Zakaria stated: "Upcoming Royal visit reflects the importance UK attaches to Pakistan. Both countries enjoy historical links and wish to strengthen them further." Earlier, Prince Charles and Camilla - the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwell - visited Pakistan in 2006 where they also visited Hunza valley along with Aga Khan. In 1996, the late Princess Diana visited Pakistan and also attended a fundraising event of Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital along with Imran Khan.
