Khursheed's sons, alleged front man granted pre-arrest bail

The Sindh High Court (SHC) Friday approved the pre-arrest bails of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah's sons and his alleged front man till October 16, 2019. After the arrest of Syed Khursheed Shah by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in allegedly 'assets beyond means' case, sons of Shah and his alleged front man approached SHC for pre-arrest bail fearing arrest by NAB in the same case.
Farrukh Shah and Zaeeq Shah - sons of Khursheed Shah - moved the bail petitions in SHC through their counsel requesting to grant them pre-arrest bail in order to avoid detention. The division bench of SHC headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh granted the bail against surety of Rs 0.5 million each. Raza Rabbani, Counsel for Shah's sons submitted that NAB sought the details from district authorities about the assets of his clients and assured that his clients would cooperate in investigations.
Besides, Syed Qasim Ali Shah, allegedly the front man of PPP leader, also filed a plea for bail before arrest. Qasim stated that he is ready to cooperate with NAB in the investigations and granted the bail before arrest. Court approved the bail against surety of Rs 0.5 million. The same bench also approved the pre-arrest bail of Fasih Ahmed, son of Iqbal Z Ahmed, the known businessman who was arrested by NAB in money-laundering case.
