Indian firing along LoC: five soldiers, one civilian martyred

Five Pakistan Army soldiers and a civilian were martyred while seven others including a soldier got injured in different incidents along western border as well as Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday. According to details shared by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in an incident on Pak-Afghan border in Dir, three soldiers embraced martyrdom while one was wounded when suspected terrorists opened fire. Terrorists opened fire from across the border on Pakistan Army troops who were busy in border fencing.
The martyred soldiers include Lance Naik Said Amin Afridi, 28, resident of Khyber; Lance Naik Muhammad Shoaib Swati, 31, resident of Manshera; and Sepoy Kashif Ali, 22, resident of Nauwshehra.
In another incident, miscreants opened fire when the soldiers were on regular patrolling duty in Abba Khel, Spinwam area of North Waziristan, on late Friday night near the Pak-Afghan border. Resultantly, Sepoy Akhtar Hussain, 23, resident of Baltistan was martyred. In exchange of fire, two miscreants were also killed.
In another incident, Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC in Hajipir Sector. A soldier from Pakistan Army Havaldar Nasir Hussain, 33, who hailed from Narowal, Punjab, was martyred. Havaldar Nasir Hussain had been serving the Pakistan Army for 16 years, the ISPR said. Meanwhile, Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Nikial and Jandrot Sectors along the LOC and targeted civil population. A woman Fatima Bibi, 40, resident of Balakot village embraced martyrdom while 6 individuals including four women got injured. The injured have been evacuated to nearby medical facility for necessary medical treatment.
