The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira has warned of holding protests in case Faryal Talpur is not allowed to attend Sindh assembly session. While extending an across the board warning that the Punjab government would be responsible in case anything wrong happens with Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur.
Addressing a press conference at the PPP Punjab Secretariat on Wednesday, he said the PPP Punjab would write a letter to the Punjab government to let Faryal Talpur travel to Sindh assembly in line with the production orders of her by the Sindh assembly speaker followed by the passage of a resolution for the same purpose.
He criticised PM Imran for his vindictive posture against the opposition, saying that it might lead to a political crisis in the country. He also urged the superior courts to take suo moto notice against the ill-treatment of Zardari and Faryal Talpur. He has also demanded the renaming of the university campus as Waris Mir Bridge at the canal.
He said the government could not keep Zardari silent through coercive measures, adding that Zardari would never surrender to pressure tactics. He said all cases against the two political figures fall in the jurisdiction of the province of Sindh and they should be reverted to the relevant province without delay. Especially, when the investigation has been completed both of them should be sent back to Sindh, he added.
He also criticised the media for projecting Karachi garbage out of proportion and said that the federal government should stop this drama forthwith. He said there is an urgent need of police reforms in Punjab. Ch Manzoor Ahmed warned for holding protests if the government did not transfer cases of Zardari and Faryal back to Sindh.
