President Sheikhupura and Ferozwala Bar Associations have announced to initiate legal action against the senior police officials involved in humiliating a lawyer by letting the complainant lady constable paraded him handcuffed. Addressing a press conference President Sheikhupura bar Rana Zahid Mahmood and Ferozwala bar Ahmad Sultan Cheema said the police was running a malicious media campaign against the lawyers. They said, "No police official as a complainant can handcuff or present accused before a court of law".
Addressing a press conference in Lahore they accused the local police of going beyond law and putting the legal fraternity on media trial in case of a lady constable against a lawyer Ahmad Mukhtar. They claimed the lady constable became a tool in the hands of some police high-ups who resorted to vindictive actions against the local lawyers. They said the bar itself had produced the bar member before the DSP concerned. They alleged that the local SHO was facing numerous cases of murders and rapes. He said an impartial inquiry into the matter could only be taken place after suspension of DPO, DSP and SHO concerned.
