Emir Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman in consultation with the other parties of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has constituted a number of committees to oversee the planned "Islamabad Long March" in October.
Rehman announced that his party has planned a decisive Long March aimed at ousting the present "fake government" in October, saying a final date will be announced after consultation with the other opposition parties.
Maulana, who is also the chief of MMA, has nominated Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri as coordinator of the committees which include political committee, diplomatic committee, media committee, and lawyer and civil society committee. The MMA emir has directed all the committees to immediately become operational.
He said that religious elements, traders, youth, media persons, judges, lawyers and the public at large all are perturbed by the policies of the present government.
He said, "JUI-F vows to work for making successful its movement for the protection of religious seminaries, belief of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, Namoos-e-Risalat and the Islamic and democratic status of the Constitution."
Maulana lashed out at the rulers for their "failed economic policies" and said the present government has broken all records of obtaining domestic and international loans while unprecedented price hike has hit every segment of society.
"People belonging to all sections of life are in pain due to failed policies of the present rulers. In these circumstances, it is the right of every Pakistani to sack this incompetent government," he declared.
Maulana said his party has already organised 15 "million marches" across the country and all of them remained peaceful despite huge participation of public.
"We are in contact with the opposition parties for cooperation (over the proposed march). We are planning meetings of the Rehbar Committee and the heads of the parties. And we will continue to make efforts to gather in Islamabad with complete cooperation," he said.
