The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has banned the entry of 14 clerics belonging to different schools of thought in the city in wake of the Muharram-ul-Haram. The ban was imposed on five Ulema belonging to the Deobandi sect, five ulema belonging to the Shia sect and four ulema belonging to the Barelvi school of thought, according to a notification issued ICT administration.
The clerics from Deoubandi school of thought include Hafiz Muhammad Saddique, Allam Tahir Ashraf, Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi, Maulana Muhammad Illyas Ghuman and Moulana Abdul Khaliq Rehmani. Ulema from Brelvi school of thought includes Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Rizvi, Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi, Pir Irfan Al Mashadi and Dr Muhmmad Asif Ashraf Jalali. The cleric from Shaia sect includes Allama Zakir Syed Maqbool Hussain, Hafiz Tassadaq Hussain, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Allama Ghanzafar Tunsavi and Allama Jaffar Jatoi.
According to other notification, Ulema who are prevented from delivering speeches and sermons at public places in ICT limits include four from Deoband school of thought, three from Shia sect and three from Barelvi school of thought. The Ulema from Deoband school of thought include Maulana Abdul Aziz, Maulana Abdul Razzaq, Maulana Abdur Rehman Muaviah, and Qari Ahsan Ullah. Ulema from Barelvi school of thought include Qari Wasim Abbasi, Maulana Muhammad Imtiaz Hussain Kazmi and Allama Liaqat Ali Rizi. Similarly, Ulema from Shia sect include Allama Mohsin Ali Najfi, Agha Safi Najfi, Allam Muhammad Ameen Shaheedi while Allama Muhammad Younus of Ahl-e-Hadith school of thought has also been banned.
