FONCE-2019 planned for November 28

In collaboration with Pakistan Society of Food Scientists and Technologists (PSFST), the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) organizing a three-day 'International Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo' (FONCE-2019) on November 28.
The theme of the conference and expo is 'Innovations and Partnerships in Food Systems for Zero Hunger'. The conference will comprise of different technical and oral sessions which would cover a wide range of areas, including challenges in public health nutrition, food safety and quality, maternal, infant and child nutrition, food fortification and hidden hunger, functional foods, clinical nutrition, disease management through nutrition, personalized nutrition, food service management, innovations in food science, and technology and improving nutrition through multi-sectoral approaches.
The event will bring national and international scientists, experts and stakeholders on a single platform who will share their experiences and innovative knowledge in the field of food science and nutrition.
In this connection, a meeting was held here on Tuesday to review the arrangements for the event, which was chaired by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha. The meeting was attended by University of the Gambia VC Prof Dr Faqir Muhammad Anjum, Director General Punjab Forensics Science Agency Dr Ashraf Tahir, PSFST President Prof Dr Masood Sadiq Butt, Chief of Nutrition/SUN Focal Person Aslam Shaheen, UVAS faculty members, and representatives from dairy and food industries, media industry, researchers and professionals from public and private sectors.
