Court to indict Shehbaz Sharif in Ashiana scandal case on Feb 18

An accountability court has summoned opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on February 18, where he will be indicted in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case.

During the hearing today, the court expressed its displeasure over the absence of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz president. Ahad Cheema and Fawad Hassan Fawad, two of the main accused also appeared for the court proceedings, local media reported.

The court was informed that Sharif was in Islamabad to chair a Public Accounts Committee meeting. The NAB prosecutor told the court that it was the responsibility of the police to present Sharif to court and not theirs, however, the court replied that it was the state's responsibility.

Adjourning the hearing till February 18, the court has summoned Sharif and others to appear before it at all cost as they will be indicted at the next hearing.
