Funds under Karachi package not yet released

The federal government didn't release a single penny for the development projects of road infrastructure and mass-transit of city under Karachi Package so far during the current financial year, official data shows. According to details of releases of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) till August 09, 2019, development projects of road infrastructure and mass-transit didn't receive any fund so far during this fiscal.
Official data shows that Rs 2 billion has been set aside for the current year PSDP for Greenline Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS). Rs 893 million has been allocated for construction of Fly-over at Sakhi Hassan, Five Star, & KDA Roundabout along Sher Shah Suri Road under Karachi Package. The federal government has allocated Rs 1.064 billion and Rs 1.118 billion in PSDP for re-construction of Mangho Pir Road from Jam Chakro to Banaras, Karachi, and re-construction of Nishtar Road and Mangho Pir Road, Karachi respectively.
Similarly, Rs 855 million have been set aside for rehabilitation/upgradation of existing fire fighting system of KMC and Rs 500 million have been earmarked for construction of flyover on Jinnah Avenue M-9. Rupees 200 million have been allocated for construction of road from Dumlotte Wells up to Link Road Adjacent to Education City District Malir, Karachi and Rs 50 million have been set aside for construction of road over Malir Bund from Dada Bhoy Town/Expressway up to Limits of PNS Mehran, District East, Karachi and Rs 2.5 billion have been allocated for Green Line BRTS Operations under Karachi Package.
