Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira has condemned the government for not allowing Aseefa Bhutto Zardari to meet her father Asif Zardari in prison. He said the government had demonstrated fascism by not allowing a daughter to meet her father on the occasion of Eid. He said the government was involved in cowardice, illegal, immoral and inhuman tactics, adding that PPP would not step back from such fascist actions.
According to him, the hostile attitude of the government towards arrested Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur tantamount to a violation of the human rights. He said PPP was well aware of how to confront such cruel acts, as Asif Zardari had already faced prison bravely and the courts had acquitted him honourably.
He lamented that the government was sowing seeds of disunity at a time when the country was facing a dangerous situation. Secretary General PPP Punjab Ch Manzoor Ahmed has also reacted strongly and pointed out that NAB cannot deny the right of meeting family members to both Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur. It appeared that Adyala Jail authorities and NAB officials were receiving instructions from the same place, he apprehended. He warned that PPP could not be deterred by such dictatorial acts. Those acts were negation of political traditions, mutual respect and moral values, he asserted.
