A woman, who was severely tortured by none other than her husband on the 2nd day of Eidul Azha in city's Gulbarg area, succumbed to her injuries during treatment, here on Thursday. According to details, Javed Hussain, on mere suspicion of his wife Khalida Bibi having an affair, had smashed her head with a thick baton in Federal B Area and fled the scene leaving her unconscious.
Later, she was moved to hospital for treatment; however she was expired due to severe head injuries. Police said first information report has been registered against Javed who reportedly used to torturing his wife.
A closed circuit television footage circulating on media also shows a man standing on footpath. In the meantime, a woman coming and eventually he starts hitting her in the head with a thick baton till the victim falls on the road, and the culprit flees from the crime scene.
