Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Dr Shahzad Tahir Thaheem has said that Sindh Government with the help of District Administration Tharparkar endeavours in health sector. Particularly in the drought affected region Tharparkar. This he was said while presiding over the meeting regarding the Health issues and establishing the Modren Blood Bank in Civil Hospital Mithi.
He also said that the dire need of safe blood transfusion facilities in district. It was briefed in a meeting that there are 62 patients of Thalassemia in Tharparkar requiring regular transfusions. Such patients suffer a lot when traveling every month to other districts. There are many hospitals where surgeries are conducted and in case of road traffic accidents and other medical emergencies safe blood transfusion is needed.
Mama Blood Bank Mithi is the only facility providing free of cost services. He also directed to the Health Department Officers concerned provide the detail report about requirement of modern transfusion center in Tharparkar.
The Civil Surgeon Civil Hospital Mithi and Pathologist of hospital told that they have functional Laboratory. They will provide the space for modern set up. Mama Vishan Thari discussed in detail the services his blood bank is offering free of cost. Running the facility on his own and catering 300-500 transfusions every month.
