Critical condition of canals, drains: PTI leader urges federal govt to intervene

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Sindh Information Secretary and Member Sindh Assembly Jamal Siddiqui has demanded from federal government to interference in Sindh due to the worst condition of canals and drains.
According to details Jamal Siddiqui said that the canal system of Sindh are in the worst condition, more rains could lead to a national tragedy and federal government should take measures to strength the canal's back side by FWO.
He said that billions of rupees were spent in the name of sanitation, strengthening and excavation of canals backs across Sindh which went to corruption and added that one more single day of rain would sink several districts of Sindh.
He further said that if Rohri canal broke, it would affect Sukkur, Khairpur, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas; Nara Canals broke it would affect Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and nearby populated and irrigated areas; Dadu canal can hit Mehar, Dadu and nearby localities; Rice Canal can hit Aqil Band, Larkana and Moenjodaro; Khairpur east can hit Khair, Gambat and adjoining areas and FB Bank (Back) can hit Matiari, Hala, Bhit Shah, if we did not take preventive measures.
He further said that LBOD Goni, Phulleli outfall drainage can sink Badin district. Sindh government did not take preventive action to curb the critical position of canals and drains, he demands from federal government for preventive measures due to heavy rain falls in Sindh.-PR
