32 benami companies of Zardari 'revealed'

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shehzad Akbar Tuesday "revealed" 32 benami companies of former President Asif Ali Zardari, including cement factories and sugar mills. Addressing a press conference along with Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi and Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar, Shehzad Akbar said that action would be taken according to law against these benami properties. He said the properties would be confiscated in 60 days if no response is submitted by owners. He said benami plots have been identified in Karachi's posh areas.
He said all these benami properties would be added to national kitty, adding that benami assets and bank shares of Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz would be attached. He alleged that Sharif family did crime on British land too. He further said the process to repatriate the absconders would start soon.
Ali Zaidi on the occasion said that the people public would be apprised of benami assets on daily basis. He said Summit Bank is a benami property, adding that all benami assets are held by mafia. He said Zardari and Sharif families looted national exchequer together and the government would unearth their corruption on daily basis.
He said that present economic hurdles are due to the money laundering of previous rulers, adding that former Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif looted aid money also. He said that next turn is of Hudaibya Paper Mill case.
