Second phase: Major reshuffle in FBR

In the second phase of major reshuffle in tax machinery, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) transferred and posted 503 officers of Customs Group on Friday including principal appraisers, appraising / valuation officers, superintendents, deputy superintendents and inspectors / intelligence officers of Customs Department with immediate effect. In this regard, the FBR has issued notifications here on Friday.
Out of these officials, 478 are principal appraisers, appraising / valuation officers, superintendents, deputy superintendents and inspectors / intelligence officers of Customs Department. The transfers and postings have been done at Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Multan, MCC Preventive Lahore, MCC Appraisement LHR, Dte of I&I-Customs Multan, MCC Faisalabad, MCC (Preventive) Lahore, MCC Islamabad, MCC Gwadar, MCC Hyderabad, Directorate of I&I-Customs Hyderabad, and MCC Sialkot. Under another notification, 25 principal appraisers and appraising / valuation officers of Customs Department have been also transferred with immediate effect.
Transfers and postings have taken place at MCC, PMBQ, Karachi; MCC, Gwadar; MCC (App), Quetta; MCC, PMBQ, Karachi; Dte of Customs Valuations, Karachi; MCC, Exports (PMBQ) Karach; MCC, JIAP, Karachi; MCC, App-West, Karachi; MCC, App-East, Karachi; MCC, PMBQ, Karachi; MCC, App-West, Karachi and MCC, App-East, Karachi. Under the reshuffling plan, the FBR has prepared a list of around 10,000 staffers from grade-1 to grade-16 who would be transferred in phase wise manner across the country.
In the first phase, the Board has transferred around 3,100 employees of grade-9 to 16 from Inland Revenue Service (IRS) across the country. In the second phase, the staffers of Customs Group have been transferred across the country. The government also decided to transfer officers of grade-17 and above but not in such massive scale. The FBR has transferred and posted 3,100 Inland Revenue officers so far up to grade-16 across the country under massive reshuffling.
