Justice continues to eludes Wamiq Farooq’s family: Mirwaiz

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday said justice continued to elude the family of Wamiq Farooq killed by Indian police in Srinagar in 2010.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Wamiq Farooq, a class 7th student, was killed when a teargas shell fired by the Indian police hit him at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar on January 30, 2010.

Mirwaiz said despite passing of nine years into the killing of Wamiq Farooq justice still eludes him till this day.

“His grieved father and many others like him relentlessly continue their fight to seek justice for the brutal killings of their loved ones,” Mirwaiz tweeted on the ninth martyrdom anniversary of Wamiq Farooq.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leaders have expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the mother of Tehreek-e- Mazahamat spokesman Shabbir Ahmad Zargar.

The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat, Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui, in a statement issued in Srinagar condoled with party spokesman, Shabbir Ahmed Zargar on demise of his mother.

He said she was a dignified mother and her services and sacrifices for the Kashmir cause would always be remembered.

A delegation of Young Men’s League led by its Chairman, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi attended the Namaz-e-Janaza of the mother of Shabbir Ahmad Zargar and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
