27 Jun, 2019

Terming the All Parties Conference (APC) of the opposition, as an attempt to safeguard the looted money, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said that prioritizing the personal interests over national interests is like a cruel joke to the people. "The opposition parties' leaders have no concern with the people issues; those who have ruined the journey of public development are holding APC but people are fully aware that these parties had devastated the economy in the past," the CM said in a statement.
The CM maintained that rejected elements are unnerved over the country's development and the opposition parties have nothing to do with the welfare of the people. The opposition parties have already faced defeat and their APC is bound to fail, he added. Moreover, the CM Sardar Usman Buzdar attended the budget session in Punjab Assembly and also met with MPAs from Lahore division besides holding meetings with assembly members of different districts in his chamber.
Talking to the MPAs, the CM asked the administration to initiate action against the elements responsible for creating artificial price-hike. The administration should also proactively perform to give relief to the people, he added. The assembly members apprised the Chief Minister about the problems and public welfare schemes of their areas and the CM issued orders for the solution of problems faced by the people.
On the demand of the assembly members, the CM directed to investigate the release of billions of rupees funds and their expenditures for the constituencies situated in Lahore during the previous tenure. "Resources are a sacred trust of the people and their personal utilization is dishonesty. We are custodian of every government penny and impartial inquiry will be held about the release and utilization of funds amounting to billions of rupees for constituencies before elections during the previous tenure," he said, adding: "No one will be allowed to loot the national resources and public money will only be spent on the welfare of the people." Usman Buzdar said that they are taking every step to provide relief to the people and disclosed that KEMU campus will be set up in Muridke. He also announced to restore 257 non-functional water supply schemes in Lahore division and other parts of the province and disclosed that funds have already been allocated for that purpose.
He said that roads situated in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib will be repaired and Arazi center will be established in Warburton. Similarly, Shahkot-Jaranwala road will be restored on a priority basis. The Chief Minister said that Baba Guru Nanak University is being set up in Nankana Sahib. In this regard, the plying of LTC buses to Nankana Sahib will be reviewed along with the establishment of a trauma center in Pattoki.
