Governor offers Eid prayers at Badshahi Mosque

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar offered Eid prayers here at Badshahi Mosque on Wednesday. He also exchanged Eid greetings with the people after offering Eid prayers. The governor prayed for country's prosperity and stability. After offering Eid prayers, the governor exchanged Eid greetings with people hailing from different walks of life at Governor's House.
Talking on the occasion, the governor said that we should exhibit unity and make collective efforts the betterment of society by setting aside our differences. Later, the governor visited the Fountain House to celebrate Eid with the members in the house. The governor met with the members and distributed sweets. The governor said on the occasion that those who are serving the special persons deserve special appreciation.
He said, "We must remember our brave soldiers and army personnel who laid down their lives to safeguard the motherland." Talking to media on the occasion, the governor said that armed forces are nation's pride; its role for peace and national security is unprecedented. "Public has given mandate to Prime Minister Imran Khan for five years. We are not endangered by threat of any grand alliance," he said, adding: "The opposition is being united to safeguard their petty interests."
Despite financial challenges, he said, "We will provide relief to public in FY 2019-20 Budget. One of the most serious challenges is economic challenge and the decision of Pakistan Army to voluntarily reduce defence budget is manifestation of their commitment towards Pakistan," he said.
