Pesco lodges FIRs against power thieves

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has removed dozens of direct hooks and arrested three persons for stealing electricity during ongoing crackdown against power pilferage in Khyber Circle and registered FIRs against the power thefts. Spokesman of the Pesco said that on the special directions of SE Pesco Khyber Circle, Tahir Jamal, task force teams including SDO Pesco College Town sub division along with Pesco personnel carried out a grand night time operation in the areas of College Town sub division areas. He said that dozens of direct hooks removed. Similarly during the operation three people were arrested using direct hooks, after lodging proper FIRs against them.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Pesco Engineer Dr Muhammad Amjad Khan has directed the Pesco Technical Staff to adopt all precautionary measures to avoid electrocution and electric shocks for their own safety.
He directed them to ensure the safety measures with letter & sprit and directed line staff not to work without PTW (Permit to work). He also directed them that to shutdown power supply before start of work. Poles on both the sides must be properly earthen for the safety of technical staff working on line/pole. Do not stand on Transformer or any other electrical instrument while working.
The Pesco authority said that be-careful from the streetlights and neutral cables. Fasten your safety belt while working on line. Always put on a helmet and rubber gloves while working. Thread stitched shoes must be used by the linemen and avoid nail fixed shoes while working on line.
Fix ladder tightly with the pole. Keep working instruments in proper condition. Use tight cotton clothes. Don't use loose and silky clothes, while working on line. Be-careful and be more vigilant while working on lines.
