NA body concerned at PHF's poor performance

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination has expressed serious concern over the poor performance of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), as the performance of national hockey team declined with the passage of time due to lack of commitment and mismanagement of PHF.
The committee met with MNA Agha Hassan Baloch in the chair here at Pakistan Sports Board on Friday. The committee discussed the performance of PHF along with details of misappropriation of funds and action taken in this regard. The committee directed the management of PHF to provide complete details of decline of Pakistan hockey along with audit reports of last five years.
The committee also recommended that the whole management of PHF would be held accountable for poor performance of national hockey team as it failed to even qualify for upcoming Olympics and World Cup. The committee also questioned the appointment of Asif Bajwa as secretary PHF and directed the president of PHF to provide complete details of his appointment along with a copy of constitution of PHF and report it to the committee on its next meeting.
The committee also discussed the performance of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and expressed concern over the unnecessary litigation between the PCB and members of governing board. The committee directed that the PCB may settle the issue amicably by removing the genuine reservations of the members for smooth functioning of the PCB. The committee directed the management of PCB to provide complete details of the performance of PCB along with audit reports of last five years and deferred the issue till its next meeting.
