Farooq Sattar challenged in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday his removal from the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement - Pakistan (MQM-P).

Sattar filed a petition in the high court challenging his removal from the party and said that his expulsion was a violation of MQM-P. He said that the party had also violated the Election Act laws in removing him.

In his petition, Sattar said that on his expulsion document, only Kunwar Naveed’s signature was there, local media reported. He added it was compulsory to have approval from two-third majority of the Rabita Committee.

Last year in November, during a party meeting chaired by convener and federal minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the party had expelled and stripped Sattar of his basic membership of the party. The party removed him for violating party discipline and constitution.

The Rabira Committee had also directed all workers not to maintain any sort of contact with Sattar. It had warned the members that the committee will take strict action will be taken against those found violating the directives.
