Sindh Excise and Taxation department has banned the sale and purchase of liquor during the holy month of Ramadan throughout the province. According to details, the retail-sale and wholesale shops dealing in the sale or purchase of liquor shall remain closed during the month. In case of violation of the order the license shall be cancelled. Meanwhile, provincial excise minister has also directed to constitute teams to conduct surprise visits of the licensed liquor shops premises and report in case of non-compliance for initiating necessary action admissible under relevant laws/rules accordingly.
