Algeria buys wheat

14 Apr, 2019

Algeria's state grains agency OAIC bought at least 330,000 tonnes of optional-origin milling wheat in a tender on Thursday, traders said. OAIC paid $238.50-$239 a tonne, cost and freight included for the wheat, which is to be shipped in June, the traders said. Some traders said OAIC bought more than 330,000 tonnes.
Part of the purchase was expected to be sourced from France, Algeria's main wheat supplier, while competitively priced US hard red winter wheat was also seen as a possible choice.
