Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) wants to remove Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government through building up public pressure by organizing public rallies, sit-ins and mass agitation. Talking to Business Recorder PPP Secretary General Farhatullah Babar said that the party wants to remove PTI government through public pressure and in this regard Asif Ali Zardari has already asked party workers to be prepared. The party will soon announce the launch of a campaign 'to send them home,' he added.
Babar said that PPP will hold rallies, public gatherings and sit-ins to topple the government. "Even if Asif Ali Zardari is behind bars, he would give a call to party workers to launch a mass movement against the PTI government. This move of the PPP would be in the larger interest of the country which badly needs a change", he said.
When asked if there are any plans for an in-house change in parliament Babar denied it however he added that his party would aggressively raise peoples' issues including the appalling state of the economy, the massive increase in the price of petroleum products, electricity bills and gas products.
Farhatullah Babar said that it had become almost impossible for the poor to pay their electricity bills and school fees of their children while prices of edible items and items used in households had gone up multiple times during the past few months.
The PPP would contact other opposition parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Awami National Party (ANP) to join in a mass movement against the PTI government.
Another PPP senior leader, Naveed Chaudhry, while talking to Business Recorder on Friday said "the PPP wants to mobilize the people against the PTI government by raising the issue of price hike, unemployment, the worst economic situation of the country and bad governance."
