PTI government making policies for economic prosperity: Sarwar

31 Mar, 2019

Punjab Governor Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar has said that the PTI government is making long-term policies instead of ad hoc policies for economic prosperity. "Economic crisis is result of bad governance and corruption of successive governments. We will not allow anyone to impede the country's progress and prosperity," he expressed these views in separate conferences, 4th LPG and Energy Conference and 29th International Medical Conference (organized by Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians), here on Saturday.
Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhter Malik, LPG Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar, businessman Iftikhar Malik, Arsalan Khokhar, Dr. Tariq Mehmood, Dr Saeed Ahmed, Dr Tahir Ch, Dr Abdul Rehma, Dr Naveed Bhatti, Dr Nahid Nadeem and others were present at occasion at these conferences.
Addressing the LPG conference, he assured the business community that no government institution, including the FBR, will disturb them; "the government will take on board all business stakeholders". He said that the past governments looted and plundered the national exchequer, making Pakistan bankrupt. "We inherited economic crisis, but they have managed to stabilize it instead without going to the IMF for a bailout package.
"The government's foremost priority is to reduce national debt and current account deficit. Prime Minister Imran Khan is taking unprecedented steps for the revival of national economy. We are also focusing on providing free health care to the poor people," he added.
He also said that everyone should contribute towards national progress in order to make Pakistan a prosperous and progressive country. They will reflect on genuine demands of LPG Association; ensuring 'ease of doing business in Pakistan' is a part of the PTI manifesto.
While addressing the International Medical Conference, he said that they need to do extra work for the provision of medical facilities in less developed areas and for that they will follow the recommendations given by Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians.
