Pakistan's overall telecom imports slumped by 10 percent to $904.016 million in July-Feb 2018-19, official figures said. The fall in telecom imports now stand at $99.494 million in July-Feb 2018-19 from $1.003 billion in July-Feb 2017-18, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.
In Feb 2019, Pakistan imported $120.565 million of telecom products, which are lower by 5.36 percent or $6.822 million from $127.387 million in Feb 2018. Import of mobile handsets also scalded down by 9.11 percent or $47.896 million to $478.137 million in July-Feb 20181-9 from $526.033 million in July-Feb 2017-18.
In Feb 2019, the country's import of mobile phones plunged to $54.320 million from $69.779 million in Feb 2018, down by 22.19 percent or $15.459 million. Imports of other apparatuses went down by 11 percent or $51.598 million to $425.879 million in July-Feb 2018-19 from $477.477 million in July-Feb 2017-18.
In Feb 2019, imports of other apparatuses however surged by 15 percent or $8.637 million to $66.245 million from $57.608 million in Feb 2018.
